Exam

To be PAQ certified candidates must successfully pass the PAQ Competency
Assessment (exam). The Assessment measures candidates against the PAQ
Competency Framework.

The assessment exam will be on-line with a duration of 2.5 hours. It has two
parts:

  • Practical: Candidates gain credits by demonstrating they can apply the
PAQ competencies to complete tasks in a product backlog release that
includes user stories, associated design documentation plus a ‘multidrop’
    application seeded with defects.
  • Scenario questions: there will be 1 or 2 scenarios with questions
associated with each (up to 5 questions in total across the scenarios).
Note: these are not multiple choice but written answers.

The assessment credits are as follows:
Practical credits: 90
Scenario based questions credits: 10
Total credits: 100
Number of credits to pass: 60 (60%)

Candidates are required to score 60 overall credits; there is no pass for each individual part of the assessment.

The PAQ SIG also considered feedback from training providers and the market that soft skills are a key imperative for effectiveness with agile teams. The trainer evaluates and gives soft skills feedback to each individual during the course (against the Agile Mindset competencies) but there is no mark or pass/fail.

If your business language is NOT English and your first language is also NOT English you will be eligible for an extra 30mins.
